For the love of eReading

There is something satisfying about revealing a secret that has been kept under wraps for so long.

Now, the cat is out of the bag. We’ve just introduced Kobo Aura HD – the eReader re-imagined – created for our most passionate Readers.

With all the industry discussion about E Ink and tablets, you may be curious about why Kobo decided to create a high definition, sophisticated E Ink device.  The answer is passion. It’s Kobo’s passion as booklovers and our booklover’s passion for eReaders.

Every decision, from the initial launch of Kobo, to each product feature we create and partnership we form comes back to one thing - our passion for readers. Kobo Aura HD is our way to celebrate them.

Today, people are reading books five times more on eReaders than with apps and people reading with Kobo eReaders are the highest consumers of content – reading four or more books a month so far this year!

We’ve learned that owning a tablet doesn’t eliminate the core use case for an eReader, in fact, it only increases. 14% of Kobo Readers who started their eReading journey with a tablet have indicated that they now intend to purchase an E Ink reader for a dedicated eReading experience. We also learned, that almost 90% of eReader owners expect to buy a new eReader this year – of those people, a third already have a tablet and use both.

Kobo Aura HD is the only premium eReader, offering an unprecedented immersive reading experience for the book lover. It’s a premium product, designed for Readers who are passionate about what they’re reading and how they read.

We like to think that the Kobo Aura HD is a badge of honour for Readers who are serious about books.

It’s truly an exciting time as eReading develops around the world. While others try to be all things to all people, we have stayed focused on providing the best eReading and digital content discovery experience to help people easily discover more of the content they love to consume.
