Kobo Acquires France-Based Aquafadas and Builds Rich Media Content Platform

Posted by Kobo Labs October  10, 2012

Kobo has announced the acquisition of digital media technology company, Aquafadas. Today marks a major milestone in Kobo’s history as it looks to generate new content for its 10-million customers around the world.

This acquisition positions Kobo as a powerhouse in eReading, enabling the company to drive the creation of more rich media – magazines, academic, comics, kids’ books and more to Kobo customers everywhere.

The company plans to leverage the amazing Aquafadas self-publishing tools in its own self-publishing platform Kobo Writing Life, to give indie authors new ways to publish their own rich media content.

Both Kobo and Aquafadas will be at the Frankfurt Book Fair this week – visit the Kobo Booth in Hall 8.0 at Stand G919 to learn more, get a peek at the new Kobo Family of Devices or to say hi to one of our Kobo team members!
