Sometimes looking back can be just as exciting as looking forward. Today Kobo is celebrating the amazing success we had in 2012. We sold millions of eReaders, doubled sales of our eBooks, launched in seven new countries, and ended the year with more than 12-million registered users.

Over the holidays reading was a top priority for many Kobo fans. 150,000 people read with us on Christmas Day and 22-million pages were turned. A Christmas Carol and ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas topped the Christmas classic charts, while Fifty Shades of Grey and The Hunger Games topped the year as our best-selling eBooks.

People were reading with Kobo’s Family of eReaders including the much-loved Kobo Touch, Kobo Glo, Kobo Mini and Kobo Arc as well as on mobile devices with our free eReading apps. Canadians led the charge reading an average of 200 pages each, while Americans followed closely behind with 160 pages.

The company’s acquisition of Aquafadas and the rapid expansion of its bookseller and retail partner networks around the world have set the stage for great things to come in 2013. We look forward to celebrating the love of reading with you and helping you find your next great read.
