Posted by Kobo Live February  04, 2013

Kobo wants 100 of your best words for its recently launched short-story contest. We’ve partnered with Jeffrey Archer, best-selling author of The Sins of the Father and Only Time Will Tell, and Curtis Brown Creative to form the Jeffrey Archer Short Story Challenge. Jeffrey’s our judge, Curtis Brown is offering a great opportunity for writers to get noticed, and Kobo Writing Life is the path to possible greatness.

From now until February 15, age of majority residents in the USA, Canada*, UK and the District of Columbia have the chance to submit a 100-word short story in English in any genre of fiction to the contest site.

Kobo will review the submissions narrowing down the list to the top 20 stories and promote them on the Kobo Writing Life website.  Jeffrey will review the top 20 submissions and announce three semi-finalists at the London Book Fair on April 15 at the Kobo booth. The three finalists will then have the opportunity to submit a 3,000-word excerpt of a novel of their choice. They will receive feedback on their work from the talented agents at Curtis Brown who have represented authors like Margaret Atwood, Howard Jacobson and Jeffrey Archer himself.

The lucky winner of the contest will be announced this summer and receive a free enrolment to a Curtis Brown online writing course.

There are 10 more days to enter the contest – get writing!
