Tara Sue Me on her European Tour
Now that I’m a full-time author, most of my days are spent alone. I mean, I have my characters to keep me company, but it’s not the same as when I worked in an office. (Though I have to say, I never have to tell Nathaniel that he needs to turn the volume down on his speakerphone or complain that Abby stunk up the entire office when she reheated her cabbage soup.)
An introvert by nature, it’s not hard for me to spend time by myself, but I do sometimes worry about becoming a hermit. One of my most favorite things to do is to meet readers, so when Headline Eternal and Kobo suggested a brunch with a reader while I was in London, I replied with a resounding ‘YES’.
It always seems surreal to me when I meet someone who has read my books. Even though I have four novels published, it never gets old to realize, I wrote this story and not only did people read it, they liked it.
My trip to Europe was wonderful. I loved Edinburgh for its beauty and the friendliness of its people. Paris was everything I thought it would be and I can’t wait to go back. And London’s history and residents captivated me. But throughout my journey, I kept looking forward to meeting Kymberley, her mom, and the Headline Eternal and Kobo teams.
Brunch was fabulous and Kymberley is delightful (plus, she loves Ariel and you know I adore All Things Disney). I can’t think of a better way to spend an afternoon than talking books and life with a group of like-minded people. My only regret is the Atlantic Ocean separates us and it’ll be so long until I see everyone again!
