People in India love to read and have indicated they see the benefits of reading digitally. In a recent survey, fifty-six percent of respondents who identified themselves as Readers said they would prefer to read digital content on a device that is optimized for eReading. In addition, fifty-four percent of those polled indicated they would read more if they had an eReader that provided them with access to their own digital library anytime, anywhere, and anyplace.
We are thrilled that Kobo can now be part of their eReading journey in India. Today we shared the exciting news that Kobo’s eReading platform is now available in India, with booksellers Crossword, WHSmith and electronics retailer Croma now selling Kobo eReaders.

The devices have access to Kobo’s eBookstore, featuring nearly 4-million titles including ninety-five percent of India’s bestselling content featuring work from top-selling Indian authors including Jhumpa Lahiri, Ramachandra Guha and Sachin Garg to international bestselling authors like Dan Brown, John Grisham and Lee Child.
