Kobo has announced the acquisition of digital media technology company, Aquafadas. Today marks a major milestone in Kobo’s history as it looks to generate new content for its 10-million customers around the world.

This acquisition positions Kobo as a powerhouse in eReading, enabling the company to drive the creation of more rich media – magazines, academic, comics, kids’ books and more to Kobo customers everywhere.

The company plans to leverage the amazing Aquafadas self-publishing tools in its own self-publishing platform Kobo Writing Life, to give indie authors new ways to publish their own rich media content.
