The Kobo Café has been full of news around exciting growth in eReading including the recent findings indicating increased digital reading amongst children and the exponential growth of Kobo eReader sales. In keeping with that growth, Kobo is also expanding its executive team. We’re thrilled to be joined by Colin Bettam who is taking on the role of Chief Marketing Officer at Kobo.

Colin is a seasoned marketing professional with more than 20 years of marketing experience across multiple industries including media, technology, consumer packaged goods, and food services.

Prior to joining the Kobo team Colin served as the VP of Marketing at LG Electronics, where he oversaw four business groups including mobile, home electronics, home appliances, and business solutions. Prior to his role at LG, Bettam held senior marketing roles at Coors Brewing Company, XM Satellite Radio and McCain Foods. Colin will report directly to our CEO Mike Serbinis and be responsible for building and expanding the Kobo brand internationally.

Colin’s experience across multiple industries is very exciting for the Kobo team as we continue to grow with expected launches in India, Russia and Philippines this year. Bettam is also excited to join the team and vows to “continue cultivating the love of reading around the world through brand initiatives that truly speaks to them.”

Colin is currently settling into Kobo by reading the book And the Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseini. We’re excited to have Colin on board as we continue our international eReading expansion. Welcome to the team, Colin!
