Design is a key part of Kobo’s DNA. We create our eReading experience around the love of books and the desire to have Readers lose themselves in stories. The attention-to-detail with which we create our experience – like Kobo’s soft-touch quilted back of Kobo’s devices or the pixel-perfect font we designed – allow for the technology to melt away and showcase the amazing stories you read.

When we met with The COLLECTIONS, a designer management and creative production company who is working with seven up-and-coming Canadian designers at this year’s World MasterCard Fashion Week, we knew that they would understand and share our commitment to design. It begged the question, what inspires fashion designers? Is our shared commitment to design the same?

Kobo is thrilled to partner with The COLLECTIONS and support these amazing designers as they bring their own inspirations to life at this year’s World MasterCard Fashion Week kicking off March 18-22. Notable names Chloe comme Parris, Sid Neigum, Thomas Bálint, Laura Siegel and Klaxon Howl, as well as new designers, LACERDA and Matthew Gallagher have been using the Kobo Arc 7” Google-certified tablet to draw inspiration in creating and managing their looks leading into the show.

Check out our shared design philosophies as Kobo’s own Pamela Hilborn, VP of Product and Design talks about the design process.
