Mommy drinks.

Not the words you want to hear about yourself, or your mom.

A simple glass of champagne drunk to celebrate a wedding was all it took for author of Drunk Mom, Jowita Bydlowska, to relapse into full-blown alcoholism after three years of sobriety.

She was at Kobo HQ for a Conversation with fellow journalist Patricia Pearson. Pearson herself is no stranger to the dark side, she’s the author of A Brief History of Anxiety and Area Woman Blows Gasket, two books about stressing out.

Their conversation was frank and frankly funny, and also really hopeful as she described how her love for her child led her to pull herself from the edge of disaster and fight for her hard-won recovery.

It was a great conversation.
