Kobo walked the red carpet today at the IT Lounge – the gifting suite during the Toronto International film festival. Loads of media and celebrities were on hand and treated to an array of very cool gifts, one of which was our very own Kobo eReader.

Walking into the IT lounge you would think you are walking into the hottest night club – a DJ spinning in the background and beautiful, stylish people talking about who’s in town and who’s seen who…and it was just 8:45 in the morning! Today was media day, so a lot of talking to media and journalists who are in town to report on the festival movies, rub elbows with the celebs and to learn more about the funky swag bags celebrities will be going home with.

The Kobo table was a popular stop and the eReader debuted to a great crowd. Some of the eReader features that everyone seemed to love was its stylish design and the 100 free eBooks – and several plan on buying them for Christmas saying they make great gifts for family and friends.

As part of our participation in the lounge, Kobo is proud to support Artists for Peace and Justice. Check out www.kobobooks.com/APJ to see recommended reading lists from Paul Haggis, Maria Bello and more. Full proceeds from any eBooks purchased from this list will be donated to Artists for Peace and Justice to assist in the work they are doing in Haiti.

Tomorrow’s a new day and we’ll probably have some great articles and fun stories to share with you – stay tuned!
